Religious Education

Whole-school RE will be delivered through celebration days that provide inclusive opportunities for all pupils to explore a range of religious and cultural festivals, traditions and beliefs in a supportive and accessible way. These experiences will be carefully planned to ensure that pupils of all abilities can participate meaningfully, with appropriate adaptation, repetition, sensory engagement and adult support where required.
This approach recognises the importance of making RE relevant, concrete and engaging for learners with a wide range of needs. Through celebration days, pupils will be supported to develop an awareness of diversity, respect and belonging, whilst also strengthening their understanding of different communities and ways of life.
Learning will be further reinforced through cross-curricular links with PSHE and Independent Living, enabling pupils to revisit key ideas in familiar and practical contexts. These links will support the development of essential life skills, including understanding routines, recognising difference, showing respect and participating appropriately within community settings.
By connecting RE to everyday experiences, pupils will be better supported to access learning in ways that are meaningful, manageable and relevant to their individual needs.
