CEIAG

CEIAG and World of Work

Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) is central to the Post-14 phase and plays a key role in preparing learners for their next steps beyond school. All learners receive impartial, tailored advice and support to help them make informed and aspirational decisions about their future pathways, taking into account their strengths, interests, needs and long-term goals.

Where appropriate, learners will be provided with work experience opportunities during their time in Post-14. These may take the form of taster sessions, enabling learners to experience a range of workplaces and roles, or a longer-term work experience placement where appropriate and suitable. In addition, learners may gain valuable experience by undertaking a range of practical jobs and responsibilities within and around the school premises, helping them to develop confidence, independence and an understanding of expectations in the workplace.

Social Enterprise and Employability Skills are embedded across all pathways and are designed to prepare learners for life beyond school in a meaningful and practical way. Through these opportunities, learners will have the chance to create, produce and sell items, while also developing essential skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, independence, responsibility, and resilience. This approach supports learners in building the knowledge, confidence and practical experience needed to transition successfully from school life into the world of work.
