Post 16 Education (Phase 5)

Our Sixth Form Centre caters for those young people who are generally operating at Entry Level 2 or below at the end of Phase 4.

These young people are not yet ready to make the move to external college provision.

The curriculum at Post 16 focuses on four key areas of development:

  • Life Skills
  • Functional Skills
  • Vocational Skills
  • Personal and Social Development

Sixth Form learners have the opportunity to stay one, two or three years, this is totally dependent on individuals and the progress they make.

There is a bespoke curriculum for each learner however all learners are encouraged to undertake the Duke of Edinburgh Award at the appropriate level.

Residential opportunities are an integral part of the Sixth Form offer as many of the learning opportunities and experiences are consolidated on these trips.

Travel Training is a high priority within Phase 5 to prepare learners for when they leave school and move into adulthood.
